Cornwall has courts situated from Bude in the far North East, to Saltash, Falmouth to the far West at Penzance and Sennen Cove and all areas in between.  For those returning to squash or moving to Cornwall seeking a club, there are six affiliated clubs spread across the County who offer competitive squash, leagues and club nights.  Those new to the sport or seeking somewhere to try it out with a friend there are multiple pay to play facilities available, please use our club finder page for more information.

The affiliated clubs in Cornwall have coaches available for either individual lessons or as part of group sessions, with coaches suitable for beginners to County Level and National standard, head over to our coach finder page to start evolving your game

There are pay per play facilities available in Cornwall where it is not necessary to join a club to play.  These range from public leisure centres, such as Bodmin, Liskeard, Fowey and Carn Brae to community clubs like Sennen and Tregorrick in St Austell.  Some schools offer pay per play facilities too with glass back courts available for pay to play use at The Ben Ainslie Centre in Truro and Bude Haven School.

Squash and racketball are very accessible games with general sports clothing being suitable to play in, with rackets and balls available to borrow or hire at most clubs should you wish to try before you commit to buying.

Most courts will require indoor trainers to be used to prevent marking of the court floors.

Compared to other sports and even attending fitness classes or gyms, squash and racketball is very affordable. Group junior club sessions tend to range between £2.50 and £3.50 per session, club nights for non members are available at some venues for £3.00 per session (including free tips from regulars!) and beginners and intermediate group coaching lessons frequently run throughout the year, starting from £5.00 per session.

To book a court for sole use at pay per play facilities ranges from £5.00 to £10.00 per court meaning that a game of doubles can start at just £1.25 per person!

For those wanting to play singles and more frequently it is often more affordable to join one of the more popular private clubs such as Truro, Falmouth, Penzance and Bude where there is a greater community focus and more players to play.  Costs for these clubs vary, but most offer a monthly membership as well as annual membership plans.

Truro and Falmouth clubs offer the most comprehensive and supportive environments for junior squash participation, both having multiple sessions to suit a variety of playing capabilities.  Unlike some sports children are welcomed and encouraged to start at any age or ability and the individual aspect of the game allows them to develop at their own pace, rather than to a fixed age group agenda.  Contact the clubs and coaches directly or use or find a coach page for more information,

Some schools in the County now offer the ability to play squash both during school time and at after school clubs, PE teachers should be able to help here.
